Work is underway to build a new £26m Dover District Leisure Centre to open in 2019. This exciting project is looking for two apprentices to help with the major groundworks package and to be involved in one of the biggest and most complex construction projects in the district.
A blueprint which highlights the future skills needs for the Dover district has been released as part of the Dover Skills & Business Expo.
The report, Future Skills for Dover, identifies areas which are likely to see the biggest job creation, and helps explain the career opportunities available to local people. It was commissioned by the Dover Business Forum following a survey which saw employers highlight skills gaps as one of the leading challenges in the future.
The report takes a long term perspective, showcasing the job growth the district is likely to experience over the next 15 years.
